About Roma Parfum

Roma Parfum was born at the intersection of patience, creativity, and reinvention.

While many fragrance houses are built through formal perfumery schools or legacy fashion empires, Roma Parfum emerged during a quieter, more introspective season — a moment when time slowed, priorities sharpened, and craftsmanship took center stage.

The brand was founded by Joe Gallagher Jr., a lifelong creator and entrepreneur best known for building manufacturing-driven consumer brands, writing a memoir, and developing long-form media projects. As Joe waited for his primary manufacturing company to scale to its next phase, he found himself in a rare position most founders never experience: forced stillness.

Rather than waste that space, he used it to build something deeply personal.


A Creative Detour That Became a Calling

During this period, Joe was simultaneously:

  • Scaling and restructuring a food manufacturing company

  • Promoting his memoir and speaking publicly about transformation and resilience

  • Writing and developing a scripted television series

  • Appearing as a guest on podcasts focused on entrepreneurship, recovery, creativity, and faith

In between meetings, interviews, and writing sessions, he became fascinated by something he had always loved but never formally explored: fragrance.

Scent had always played a role in Joe’s life — memory, presence, identity — but now he had time to study it deeply. Not as a hobby, but as a craft. He immersed himself in the technical foundations of perfumery: concentration levels, raw materials, maceration, oil structures, and the subtle difference between fragrances that disappear and those that endure.

What began as curiosity quickly became obsession.


Why Extrait de Parfum

Joe was not interested in creating another mass-market fragrance. The goal was never to chase trends or shelf space. Instead, Roma Parfum was built around a single non-negotiable principle:

If it doesn’t last, it doesn’t matter.

That philosophy led directly to extrait de parfum, the highest and most concentrated category in fine fragrance. With oil concentrations far exceeding eau de toilette and eau de parfum, extrait is slower, deeper, more intimate — and far more demanding to formulate correctly.

Roma Parfum extraits are designed to:

  • Evolve gradually on skin

  • Last 24–36 hours or longer

  • Require fewer sprays

  • Feel personal rather than performative

This commitment to extrait concentration immediately separated Roma Parfum from conventional designer brands.
